A number of quests in Mount & Blade 2 Bannerlord are currently bugged. Among them are the army of poachers and herd delivery request. Some of the bugs are mere annoyances, others are decidedly gamebreaking. If you’re having trouble on account of any of these tasks, this guide will tell you all about the M&B2 Bannerlord army of poachers & cattle quest bugs, how to avoid them when possible.
Cattle is used in quests mainly. Although, if you get mods to make cattle follow you instead of pushing them to the destination, you have a moving food supply:D. You can get cattle by going to the village elder and select the 'buying supplies' option. Most villages don't have cattle so it may take a few tries finding villages with them. It appears that the idea is that you are supposed to drive the cattle to the nearest city where fresh beef will garner you the most denars, and then slaughter them outside said city and then sell the beef. If you slaughter the cattle you will get some shanks of fresh beef for each cow you have. You can take prisoners at the end of most battles or sieges. Some fights do not allow the option, such as freeing a village from bandits. You can only capture the enemies who have been knocked unconscious through the use of blunt weapons (horse charging is also blunt damage). Very rarely, sharp weapons may result in wounding, due to reasons unknown (possibly the surgery skill on the opposite.
Poachers quest bug
The most common bug with the army of poachers quest is one where the game crashes when the time runs out. It is often couled with another bug, in which you get either zero or minus one days to comlete the quest. When they appear together, these bugs will cause the game to crash as soon as you accept the quest. The only way to avoid this is to not take the quest. Just ignore it whenever it comes up.
Mount And Blade Warband Cattle Disappear
Some people have also mentioned the poachers staying on the world mape even after they’ve been defeated, but that’s a much milder issue than the one above, which also has the nasty habit of corrupting the save file. So just avoid the army of poachers quest like the plague.
Herd delivery quest bug
The cattle quests are also ripe with issues, but the most common one is the cattle not appearing. As soon as you accept the quest, the herd should appear in your inventory. If you’re having trouble finding them, go to a trading menu and you should see them listed as sellable. If not, you’ve been visited by the cattle disappearing bug. There’s nothing you can do about it, as far as we know, and you’ll just have to fail the quest and live with it.
